Baby Fayth's life was a constant reminder of what a privilege it is to care for these children, even when we know that they don't have long to be with us. At six months old, Fayth came to our children's village with a severe heart condition that was causing cyanosis (looking blue) and clubbing of her fingers. She had only a single atrium and ventricle, and her condition was declared inoperable. Though emails were sent and contacts made worldwide in an effort to help her, she was brought back home where she was loved and nurtured by her nannies for almost two years. On June 3, Fayth suffered an acute episode of sudden heart failure and went Home surrounded by those who loved her.
As we grieved, we were also reminded by Fayth's life that no matter how short or long, every life has value. The small lives that come into our care may be frail and complicated, but they are valued by the Father who has given us the opportunity to love and serve them. In honor of Fayth and the joy that she brought into this world for a brief time, we formed the Baby Fayth Club. Your participation will provide for the medical needs of children like Fayth, bringing them hope and health at Shepherd's Field Children's Village.
Funds generated from the Baby Fayth Club will enable children to receive life-changing medical care and surgery as soon as they need it. Since 1995, PHF has funded more than 3000 surgeries, including surgeries to repair cleft lips, cleft palates, heart defects, serious burns and orthopedic problems. Our medical budget also transports children weekly to specialists in Beijing for ear, eye, GI and heart evaluations; provides monthly blood transfusions and check-ups; and covers the cost of hospital stays and medications. For a minimum of just $10 per month, or a minimum annual gift of $120, you can become a member of the Baby Fayth Club and be a part of this providing quality health care to our kids.
God knew the beginning and end of Fayth's story, and He alone knows what the future holds for the many other children of our children's villages. With your help, we can ensure that their medical needs will be met, offering the best opportunity for long, healthy and fulfilling lives.
